Sun Ra: A Joyful Noise es una película de jazz de 1980 dirigida por Robert Mugge, que documenta las actuaciones de Sun Ra y su Arkestra en Filadelfia, Washington D.C. y Baltimore. También incluye entrevistas y escenas de ensayos. Las actuaciones en Filadelfia capturadas en el filme tuvieron lugar en Danny's Hollywood Palace y en la azotea del Philadelphia International Center. La actuación en Baltimore se llevó a cabo en el Famous Ballroom, organizada por la Left Bank Jazz Society.
Entre las composiciones de Sun Ra que aparecen en la película están "Astro Black," "Along Came Ra," "We Travel the Spaceways," y "Requiem for Trevor Johnson (Discipline 27)."
