La Cellule d'Intervention METAMKINE

La Cellule d'Intervention METAMKINE es un colectivo abierto que incluye músicos y cineastas que investigan la relación entre la imagen y el sonido. Desde 1987, han llevado a cabo y presentado diversos conceptos en festivales, galerías, cines y espacios de arte contemporáneo en Francia, Europa, Canadá, Estados Unidos, Japón, Australia y Nueva Zelanda. Desde 1995, han desarrollado colaboraciones con otros grupos o artistas como Nachtluft (Suiza), Kinobits (Francia), Loophole Cinema (Inglaterra), Tom Cora (EE.UU.), Le Cube (Francia), la Flibuste (Francia), Voice Crack (Suiza).

A través de la magia de los espejos, múltiples proyectores y un montaje en vivo sumamente ingenioso, Metamkine produce y dirige una nueva película en cada una de sus presentaciones. Trabajando en torno a una narrativa central, generan remolinos de viñetas improvisadas, acompañadas por una banda sonora en vivo de fragmentos de cinta y antiguos sonidos de sintetizadores. Estos tres colaboradores, que han trabajado juntos por más de 10 años, han logrado llevar los límites del cine y la banda sonora al ámbito de la performance en vivo, algo totalmente único.

La Cellule d'Intervention METAMKINE is an open-ended group including musicians and filmmakers researching the relationship between image and sound. Since 1987 different concepts have been carried out and performed in festivals, galleries, cinemas and contemporary art spaces, in France, Europe, Canada, USA, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Since 1995 they develop collaborations with other groups or artists like Nachtluft (Switzerland), Kinobits (France), Loophole Cinema (England), Tom Cora (USA), Le Cube (France), la Flibuste (France), Voice Crack (Switzerland).

Through the magic of mirrors, multiple projectors and highly ingenious live on stage editing, Metamkine produces and directs a new film with each of their performances. Working around a core narrative, they spill eddies of impromptu vignettes, accompanied by a live soundtrack of tape fragments and ancient synthesiser sounds. These, three collaborators, who have worked together for more than 10 years, have succeeded in pushing the boundaries of film and soundtrack into the realm of live performance - Utterly unique.
